Huangpu Jiang at Shanghai

View on Pudong from the Huangpu River

The famous Hangpu Jiang, the “Yellow Bank River”, is about 100 kilometers long and flowing through Shanghai.

The river divides the city into two regions: Puxi (west), the old town, and Pudong (east), the new financial district. The Bund of Shanghai is located along the river.

Especially at night the district is beautiful lighted and there are cruises to make on the river.

The river is the main source of drinking water for the 17 million inhabitants of Shanghai.
